Mr. Turtle

Well I can honestly say that I did a good deed yesterday...Carlee, Bailee and myself saved a turtle. I know I know, are we not the sweetest people on the entire planet??? Let me tell you exactly how this adventure happened.

Teddy was barking outside {nothing new} so I peeked out the back door...and what did I see? TEDDY WAS TRYING TO DIG OUT OF THE FENCE {which he has done before may I add}!! He was out there digging and crying his little heart out, so obviously I ran out there to see what in the world was so important to him. Boy was I in for a surprise, because when I finally got to the part of the fence where he was there was a poor, helpless turtle. He must have fallen down the hill behind our fence {wait...can turtles fall, we will say they can}! He was stuck right up against our fence, and little Teddy was going crazy trying to get him. Im sure he just wanted to play with him {he is known for playing with other animals and insects}. Right away I knew I had to save the little turtle, especially since Teddy was literally a few more digs away from being out of the fence. Me, Carlee and Bailee trotted out of the fence and walked behind our house to where the little turtle was.

If you have ever been to my house you probably know that behind our fence there is a little rocky hill {that desperately needs landscaping}. Well....try walking down that holding a 3 month old baby wearing Birkenstock's. I thought I was gonna die a few times, but nonetheless I made it down the little hill to where the turtle was.

He was probably shaking in his little shell, but at least he had a good shell to protect him! Once I got close enough to pick him up I saw that Teddy had actually been digging on him a little bit. Poor little guy!!

So now I was holding Bailee in one arm, a turtle in the other hand I had to try and get up that rocky hill without falling. Lets just say it was MUCH easier going down it than it was up. Little monkey Carlee didnt have any trouble going up it at all, and was very impatiently waiting for the rest of us to meet her at the top. Finally we {and by we I mean me, Bailee and the turtle} made it safely to the top. Whew....Ill never ever do that again!!

Now that we saved the turtle we had a new dilemma...where do we put him so he wont fall back down the hill. I decided it would be best if we took him to the top of the driveway, near the water tower. Carlee carried him {smiling and giggling} until we found him a nice flat home. We said our goodbyes, set him down and told him not to fall down the big hill again.

On the way back down the driveway, me and Carlee decided to name him Mr. Turtle. That was a great adventure for the day, and it felt good to save a little helpless animal...even if it was just a turtle.

Skunky

As I sit here this foggy Tuesday morning {watching cartoons with my girls} my mind starts to wander...and it stops at the first time me and David ever went anywhere together. I don't remember the exact date, but it was in early 2006. We had been hanging out at the fire hall {yes, that used to be the cool thing to do} and of course I was hungry. I feel like I used to be a bottomless pit {and now it is all catching up to me, but we wont go there today}. So we hopped in my Jeep and away we drove. I was craving Wendy's, and of course David said that was fine.

I got a nugget kids meal {yes that was cool then too} and when David tried to pay, I smacked his hand down and handed the lady my card. He looked at me like I was crazy, but I didn't care...I didn't want him to have to pay for me. I know that sounds strange, but thats just how I used to be.

Anyways...when I got my kids meal open I saw my toy in the bottom. It was a little skunk stuffed animal. You know those little TY beanie baby look a-likes, well that's what this was. I named him Skunky.

Skunky
Skunky rode around with me for almost 2 years...no lie!!! Every time I looked at him it always made me smile because I thought of David. And guess what....I still have Skunky to this day. He sits either on my window seal above my kitchen sink, or above my stove so I can always see him. I know it may seem silly or childish to still have a little stuffed animal I got from a kids meal, but it really means a lot to. He makes my heart happy!!

Me and David have been married for over 5 years, and I love him {and my girls} more than anything in the whole world. They are my entire life, and I'd be so lost without them! We have been through our ups and downs, and they have all made our relationship so much stronger. Yes, while I do wish I could erase all my very bad mistakes...I cant. I have to live with that, but David truly loves me for who I am, even with all my flaws. I believe and know we are meant for each other, and I wouldn't trade him in for anything {even my Hollywood crush Bradley Cooper}. *giggle*

I LOVE YOU DAVID!

Funnel Cakes at the Fair

Its time for the county fair again in Hamilton County!!

Me and my little family went yesterday and it was so much fun!! There were petting zoo's, pony rides, slides, PIGGIES {carlee's favorite}, funnel cakes, drinks, crafts, entertainment and all kinds of other fun things to do. Carlee loved it and Bailee was so good the entire time! Some of our best friends {Misty and Kristen} came with us too, so we all had a blast! Here are a few pictures of our amazing day!!

This is my day to ramble

Here in good ole Soddy Daisy it has just been pretty yucky outside all week. I just couldn't get motivated to go out anywhere...so me and the girls just decided to stay home. I have kept Carlee pretty busy doing lots of arts and crafts, but baby Bailee has been pretty fussy. It really has started to worry me because she NEVER EVER cries to fusses. Her and Carlee have both had a cold, so i'm hoping Doctor Wiley {the best doctor ever} says that she just isn't feeling good from that. Of course being a mommy, I am always paranoid that it is going to be something much more serious. I really shouldnt have anything to worry about...right? When I called the doctor's office a few nights ago {about her coughing so much} the on-call doctor was asking me a lot of questions about her...{in a rude tone may I add}
Does she have plenty of wet diapers?....yes, I think so
Has she been vomiting?....no
Does she have a rash?...no
How often does she eat?....umm, really whenever she wants, but about 5-6 times a day
So she just eats on demand then?....yes, I mean she has a general schedule, but I feed her when shes hungry
Ok, do you know how many times a day?...as i said before, 5-6 times when she is awake, but I dont keep close track of that anymore since she isnt a new born

Im not going into any more details about our phone conversation, but needless to say she was getting rather rude with me. I called the doctor's office to get guidance about my little 3 month old, not to be drilled questions that I may have have the book answer to.  She made me feel stupid and frustrated, but most of all she made me feel like I am not a good mother.

I realize that this is just me totally over reacting about the whole situation{I tend to do that a lot}, and I know that I am in fact an amazing mother. So back to my original reason for even writing all of this today {remember this is my day to ramble}....I am taking Bailee to the doctor tomorrow. I hope that she is fussy because of this cold, she doesnt have an allergy or anything seriously wrong. Say a little prayer for my sweet baby girl, and I will keep you posted on how she is doing.

Ta-Da!

Do you like my new design?? I think I am almost finally finished with my blog makeover. I tried SO many different looks, and I really think this one fits my personality perfectly!! I made my header in Photoshop {and I may even tweak it a bit to add a picture of David and Teddy}, and I found the background on shabbyblogs.com {amazing website by the way}!! If anyone wants me to help them give their blog a makeover, just give me a shout!

And just to give everyone a quick peek at how BEAUTIFUL my little girls are here is a picture I snapped of them this morning while we were snuggling in bed!

Extreme Makeover: Blog Edition

Today I am going to be working on giving my blog a makeover...I feel like the whole look and feel needs a big time face-lift.

{wish me luck}

Pom-Pom Family

Well, both of my little girls have been sick ALL weekend. Since we had to stay home and nurse them back to health me and David decided to start on our To Do List {that we made over a year ago when we first moved into our house}. Out of the LONG list we chose to start on the crown-molding. {before David worked for the Sheriff's Department he ran a framing crew, so he is REALLY good at handy stuff like this!!}

The first thing that HAD TO BE DONE was to paint the wood {it was disgusting}! So I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. It didnt take to long to paint all of it since it was a simple straight line I was painting...but I did have to put 3-4 coats on each piece. Man oh man, its amazing how you can just paint over all kinds of nastiness, {yes that is a word} and get such a beautiful result. It all looked brand new!!!!

After we let it dry over night David started to hang it...all the loud pounding was wonderfully annoying!! Since Misti and Kristen spent the night, all the girls wanted to do something fun to get their minds off the noise. Then an amazing idea hit us...to make little people out of pom-pom balls!!!! {i secretly think me and Misti were more excited about it than the girls, but we can pretend it was the other way around}

I had to feed Bailee {yes, I am still breast-feeding} so I left Misti in charge of the hot glue gun. BAD IDEA. She scorched her finger {I couldn't help but laugh} while gluing a pom-pom to a clip. Oh well, look at my super cute little pom-pom family!!

Lets talk about Teddy

Teddy.

Now that could be a controversial subject all in itself. He is our little dog that I consider to be my middle child. As with any puppy {he is a little over a year old now} he has TONS of energy. And when I emphasize TONS, I really do mean TONS!

My 3 closest friends have mixed feelings about him. Lets take Justina for instance. She hates him {which is really funny to me}. If you have ever been to our house, you know very well that you are immediately greeted by a jumping, wiggly puppy who just so happens to have sharp little nails. This is not a good mix if you are wearing shorts {i'm sure you can use your imagination what happens to your legs}. She refuses to pet and love on him, therefore he stays excited the whole time she is here because all he wants is to be loved on by her for a few minuets. Misti on the other hand used to hate him mainly because her daughter Kristen got scratched by him the first time they ever came over here...giving him the new name THE EVIL DOG. But their relationship soon turned from a love-hate {teddy loving them, them hating him} to a love-love relationship. Needless to say Teddy doesnt scratch Kristen anymore, and he actually stays right by her and Carlee whenever they are playing. Olivia {the best neighbor and friend ever} just tolerates him. I know she loves him, and she has seen how much he really has calmed down {especially since we brought Bailee home from the hospital}. She just doesn't like him tongue kissing her, and he is VERY good at sneaking those in right when you least expect it.

Now what would a handsome little man like himself do without his girlfriend? Yes thats right he has a girlfriend. I believe she is a Husky breed {stuffed animal} given to Carlee by PowPow, but she very soon got taken over by Teddy. I know I know....I shoudlnt have let him take over the thing but at first it was just so funny to catch him every now and then lovin' on her. Now though its a totally different story. He cant even go to bed at night without givin' her the proper lovins. {Ya know, maybe thats why he sleeps so good at night...he is so worn out}

Okay...enough about his girlfriend!!!

His newest thing to do is to be the guard dog of the ENTIRE neighborhood. Yes, he thinks he is some big pit bull, and that the responsibility of guarding the whole neighborhood rests solely on his shoulders. He has a little schedule. Every morning between 7:45 and 9:30 the lady across the street walks her yellow lab on the driveway behind our house. I know this because every morning between 7:45 and 9:30 Teddy absolutely MUST go in the back yard and investigate the situation. I go out there a lot and talk to her, and she thinks its hilarious seeing this little white dog run like crazy along the fence. After he is finished with the yellow lab routine, he runs into Carlee's room, {and this is okay because Carlee STILL sleeps in the bed with us...ugh} jumps onto her bed, then stands on her nightstand and waits for the mail-lady. Its funny because he just stands there peering out the blinds until she comes.
  After our mail is successfully dropped off he plays with Carlee, naps, eats and does just whatever he wants until 3:05...and that is when the little boy that lives up the road gets dropped off by the school bus and walks up the driveway behind our house to his house. Again, he must go out to investigate the situation and he comes right back inside after the little boy is in his yard. Then we wait for David to get home, and he pretty much snuggles and bothers David until he leaves for work the next morning...then he starts his routine all over again.

He really is a good little dog, and I honestly consider him to be one of my children. I really dont know what I would do if anything was to ever happen to him {even though I have threatened to give him away after he chewed up over $1,000 worth of my clothes}. I could really never give him away though. He is part of our family and we all love him so much!

WE LOVE YOU TEDDY!

Crafty Monday

Good Monday everyone!!! I have been itching to get my hands onto some amazing craft ideas, and this past weekend I finally stumbled upon one...decorating a lamp shade with coffee filters!!!

I AM SO INTO STUFF LIKE THIS!!

I just knew I had to make this for Miss Bailee's room. Her room is painted purple, and is decorated with white accents so this little project is just perfect!! Carlee helped by handing me the coffee filters, and we worked on it together while Bailee took her long morning nap.

It is a very cheap, fun project to try if any of you moms get bored one afternoon!! All I used was a small lamp shade, 3 packs of 160 count coffee filters, a marker (so you don't burn your finger with the hot glue), and a hot glue gun (with lots of extra glue sticks). If anyone wants to know exactly how to make one just comment to me below this post and ill put up the easy directions!

 As I was taking pictures of Bailee's new lamp shade I decided I needed to show off the rest of her little cute decorations. Her favorite thing right now is her little purple elephant that big sister Carlee picked out for her while she was still in my belly. She bops herself in the face with it while she tries to hold it, and obviously that is the funniest thing in the world...it makes her crack up!

Well now that I have shown off all her decorations in her room, its definitely time to show off her!!! She is almost 15 weeks old already...I really cant believe it!!!

...im singing in the rain...

This morning me and my big princess played in the rain with our amazing matching rain boots and umbrella. It was so much fun, but it was SO COLD!!! Since we were fully equipped for the rain we decided it would be fun if we jumped and splashed around in puddles. I guess Teddy heard us laughing and screaming, and before i knew it he was out there with us. Of course he got NASTY, but we didnt care because we were all having so much fun! Our rain fun soon came to an end because we didnt want to get sick from the cold, and we ran inside (and had to give Teddy a bath). Fun fun memories!!
